“We can make our minds so like still water that beings gather about us that they may see, it may be, their own images, and so live for a moment with a clearer, perhaps even with a fiercer life because of our quiet.”
― W.B. Yeats
One (1) act of self-love every day for 40 days. Sounds easy right? Well it actually is. Sometimes thinking about ways to love me is not always easy. Yet, as I follow my companions on the 40 Day challenge I see a loving act can be as easy as taking 15 minutes of pure silence.
Set the intention:
Today, this is what I am going to do. I am going to turn off the T.V., the radio, the computer, the phones and sit with myself, and maybe some paper and makers and just listen to my heart. Maybe I will draw, and maybe I wont, the importance is that I truly listen to the whispers of my spirit. What does it want? What is it longing for?
Connecting with source is really crucial to my healing. Yet, I often neglect this part of me, and get caught up in the hustle bustle of the noise of the world. The news, the negativity, the cars screeching by.
No, today, my 15 minutes of silence will be silent. Hurry! Close all the windows and doors. Find the perfect spot and just listen. I want to experience a whole different world. The space which lives in the dimension of my soul. Since I have agoraphobia I am limited to the surrounding area, and get very VERY frustrated at times, thus I feel like I am on house arrest. However, when I tune into my inner world, I have the freedom do go anywhere I want to go. I can even invent a magical place with all my favorite things:
Willow trees, fairies, a lake, a picnic basket, flowers, bees, and butterflies. There is a hammock for me to lie on and a boat for me to row. There are secret hiding spaces, and magical passage ways which would safely take me into a different world. There are no limitations in this place of mine. In fact, there are not mosquitos, and if there were, they wouldn’t be the kind that bite.
So where am I going to go today?
The fun is in the mystery…
What self-love acts have you done lately?
Holding hands with you.
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing
and rightdoing there is a field.
I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about.”
