“If you celebrate your differentness, the world will, too. It believes exactly what you tell it—through the words you use to describe yourself, the actions you take to care for yourself, and the choices you make to express yourself. Tell the world you are one-of-a-kind creation who came here to experience wonder and spread joy. Expect to be accommodated. (11)”

Yesterday my good friend Tracie Nichols over at Alchemy of the Earth decided she was embarking on an amazing and luscious journey of 40 days of Self-Love. When she challenged us to join her, I didn’t even think twice about it I said YES! (see Tracie’s post here)
I have worked on the self-love journey for a year now, and have made great strides in doing things for myself that I would have never done in the past. What makes me excited about this challenge is now I will be thinking of old and new loving acts to give my spirit daily and reporting it back to you here on my blog, and on my Facebook page. In other words, I will be drawing a love map that I can go back to, re-visit and explore. How cool is that?
Will you join us?
The challenge begins with the New Moon on Sunday June 8th. What a perfect day to start on this adoring journey. ARE YOU READY?
“What do I mean by self-love?
Anything that makes me feel loved. Big stuff. Little stuff. Silly stuff. Beautiful stuff. Serious stuff. One act. Every day.”
For me, that would be listening to my body when I am tired and taking a nap. Drawing when my inner child wants to play with color, dancing to my favorite song, taking the time to cook a meal just for me when the kids are not home (instead of heating up a frozen dinner), a long shower, doing my nails, doing up my hair, or even having a “me date” over by the water or to cocoon with a good book or a movie.
How do you shower yourself with love? Will you join us in the challenge? I would love to discover with you gazillions of ways we can love ourselves.
Feel free to join me, share with your friends, and let me know if you blog about it.. I will share and tweet!
“I now see how owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.” ― Brene Brown
